Registration for Public Swim
Public Swim is available to book 3 days before any given date, at 7AM that day
NEW! Swim Lesson Policy — NO CANCELLATIONS!
COSPA has a new cancellation policy for swim lessons. To ensure more equitable access to swim lessons, lessons must be paid for at the time of registration. Swim lessons are not refundable or transferable.
Pool Features
Highwood Outdoor Swimming Pool (HOP) is operated by the Highwood Community Association in partnership with the Calgary Outdoor Swimming Pools Association (COSPA).
Main Pool
- One 4-lane lap pool – Lanes are 3m wide by 25m long with a depth of 1.22 to 2.62m.
- Zero-entry spray deck with multiple water features and deck fountain
- Tot and child-friendly shallow pool area with a slide
- Accessibility ramp for patrons with limited mobility
Facility
- Large concrete and grass deck area
- Green space with picnic tables and a shelter
- Fenced front green space with picnic table for pre-entry picnics
- Free Little Library
- Newer renovated bathrooms and shower area
- Change rooms with privacy stalls in both areas
- Coin operated non refundable $.25 lockers or bring your own lock
- Interior temperature-controlled showers, and 1 the on deck shower
Concession
- The cash only concession sells prepackaged cold treats, snacks and drinks.
- Swim goggles, Gabbys reusable swim diapers and Little Swimmers 1X swim diapers are available at the front counter
Lifeguard Supervision
- The pool is supervised by qualified lifeguards during business hours.

Highwood Outdoor Pool offers the following programs:
- Lane Swim
- Public Swim
- Lifesaving Society Swim for Life lessons - morning and evening availability
- Bronze Star, Bronze Cross, and Bronze Medallion
- Private & Semi-Private Lessons Monday to Friday
- Day Camps – for ages 6 to 13
Pool Rentals
- Private Rentals – weekday evenings and weekend mornings/evenings
