Public Swim is available to book 3 days before any given date, at 7AM that day
NEW! Swim Lesson Policy — NO CANCELLATIONS!
COSPA has a new cancellation policy for swim lessons. To ensure more equitable access to swim lessons, lessons must be paid for at the time of registration. Swim lessons are not refundable or transferable.
Pool Features
South Calgary Outdoor Swimming Pool is operated by Benchmark Properties Ltd. in partnership with the Calgary Outdoor Swimming Pools Association.
Main Pool
- One four-lane lap pool – Lanes are 3m wide by 25m long with a depth of 1.22 to 2.62m.
- Zero-entry spray deck with multiple water features and deck fountain
- Shallow tot/child pool area
- Accessibility ramp for those with limited mobility.
- The pool water is heated, filtered and sanitized 24 hours per day.
- Large concrete and grass deck area

- No coin operated lockers on site, it is recommended you bring your belongings on deck with you
- Temperature-controlled showers
- Bathrooms
Concession
- The concession sells prepackaged foods and drinks.
Lifeguard Supervision
- The pool is supervised by qualified lifeguards during business hours.
Programs offered at South Calgary Outdoor Swimming Pool
- Daily public swim
- Morning and evening lane swim
- Tot swim — for children under 6 and their families
- Lifesaving Society swim lessons
- Red Cross and Lifesaving Society First Aid and CPR courses
- Lifesaving Society Certification Courses including: Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, National Lifeguard and Lifesaving/Swim Instructor.
- Junior Lifeguard Club
- Private and semi-private lessons
- Adult swim lessons
- Recreation swim club
Lifesaving Society Lessons
- Morning and evening classes available
- Morning lessons run from 9am to noon
- Evening lessons run from 6pm to 8:45pm
Pool Rentals
South Calgary Outdoor Pool offers private rentals weekday evenings and weekend mornings/evenings:
- Monday through Friday evenings from 8:45pm to 9:45pm
- Saturday and Sunday evenings from 8pm to 9:30pm
- Weekend mornings from 9:00am-12:00pm
Rentals are available weekend mornings from 9am to noon, weekday evenings from 8:45pm to 9:45pm, and weekend evenings from 8pm to 9:30pm. Private rentals can be booked through the registration page. The cost is $180 per hour on weekdays and $200 per hour on weekends, for up to 40 people. If more than 40 people will be in attendance, you must indicate that when booking the rental and pay an additional $50 surcharge.
